Dr Steven Wiffen
Dr. Wiffen is a graduate of the University of Queensland Medical School, he then trained in Ophthalmology in Western Australia before completing prestigious fellowships in cornea and refractive surgery at the Corneo-Plastic Unit (UK) and the Mayo Clinic (USA). Dr Wiffen was also a former Director of the Corneo-Plastic Unit and Eye Bank in East Grinstead in 1993-1994. He has been the Director of the Lions Eye Bank of Western Australia since 1997.

Background and education
Dr Wiffen has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Fremantle Hospital since 1997 and was Associate Professor in the Centre for Ophthalmology and Visual Science, University of Western Australia from 1997-2014.
Since 1997, he has been the Director of the Lions Eye Bank of Western Australia, holding many other positions including; Head of Department of Ophthalmology Fremantle Hospital, Chair of the Qualifications and Education Committee of the WA Branch of RANZCO, Chair of Eye Banks Australia and New Zealand and Chair of the Cornea Standing Committee of the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Dr Wiffen’s has special expertise in corneal transplantation, pterygium and cataract surgery as well as refractive surgery, offering LASIK, SmartSight, ICL and TransPRK procedures.
Ouside of work, you’ll find Dr Wiffen at the basketball and cycling all around Perth.

He was Director of the Corneo-Plastic Unit and Eye Bank in East Grinstead 1993-1994.
