Dr Chris Lim

Dr Chris Lim is a consultant ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in cataract, eyelid, laser and refractive surgery, and corneal transplants. Following his comprehensive general ophthalmology training, he completed a two-year clinical fellowship in cornea, external eye disease, and refractive surgery at the National University Health System in Singapore, followed by an additional fellowship in cornea and oculoplastics at the Royal Perth Hospital. His clinical practice encompasses complex and premium cataract surgery, advanced vision correction, corneal transplantation, and complex anterior segment reconstruction. Beyond the clinic, Dr Lim is an internationally recognised researcher and a sought-after educator on the global speaking circuit. Driven by a commitment to advancing patient care, he completed a PhD at the University of New South Wales. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles, authored multiple textbook chapters, and received numerous accolades for his clinical and research contributions, including the Royal Perth Hospital Research Foundation Professor Lyn Beazley Emerging Leader Award and conferment as an Eye Care Ambassador at the Eye and Vision Health Awards in Singapore.

Deeply invested in the future of his profession, Dr Lim serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He is actively involved in teaching medical students and postgraduate ophthalmologists. His dedication to education has been recognised with awards such as the National University of Singapore Medicine Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence, the National University Health System Young Clinician Mentor Award, and the Wong Hock Boon Society and Singapore Medical Association Charity Fund Outstanding Mentor Award.
